Matches in Prep for Champions Trophy

Hi All,

I am currently in Frankfurt, Germany at present playing two test matches against them. Today we played them and won 3-2 with me managing to score along side Jo Ellis and Susie Gilbert. With this result we have a rematch tomorrow with another point to prove.

Last weekend saw Spain travel to English lands for two test matches at Beeston, Nottingham. The first match resulted in a 1-1 draw with my Club team mate Katie Long scoring a super goal. The second match result went our way winning 3-1 with a much better team performance.

We are currently preparing for the Champions Trophy, Sydney in July  where we will be competing against the top 6 teams in the World. Tough competition faces us being ranked 7th in the world but will be a good challenge and going forward to London 2012 where we would like to be one of the top teams it will be a good stepping stone.

Keep watching for more updates on our travels as a team.

Looking Forward to the Summer

Hi All,

Sorry its been a while since my last posting on here. Quite a lot has happened since I last wrote including the GB Super league in Cardiff and Cannock. I was part of the Pennine Pumas team who won the Women's tournament over four matches beating the Saxon Tigers in the Final.

Since the end of the club season the international programme has kicked in with heavy loads of training preparing for our two major tournaments in the summer, the Champions Trophy (Sydney) in July and European Cup (Amsterdam) in August. Both should be brilliant tournaments with ideal locations and tough opposition at both. The top six teams at the Champions Trophy and qualification for the World Cup at stake at the Euros - both will be hard work testing ourselves against the best in the world.

I have also had some fun days including a photo shoot in Cologne with Adidas, my new sponsor through to London 2012 (New pictures will be coming soon) and some school visits to Launch the Essex Leadership award in Chelmsford and I spoke at the Essex County Council 2012 Legacy Conference in Southend.
Until next time

Season Comes to an End (Almost)...

Hello,
Well we are close to the end of the season for this year now. We have three league games left with Leicester and we are really pushing for the second spot in the league and the final European Qualification place. We are still confident but now rely on some of the other results from matches out of our hands, but will continue to push on and we will have to see what happens!

Last week I was lucky enough to be voted Essex Chronicle Sports Personality of the Year presented at the County Ground in Chelmsford, home to Essex County Cricket Club. The award was given to me by Grant Flower (Essex Cricket coach) .
Can I thank everyone who voted for me from the paper and say a big thank you to all the support people have provided over the years and especially in the lead up to the Beijing Olympics. Individually to my family, Chelmsford Hockey Club and the ladies of Braintree Golf Club.

Best Wishes
Chloe 12
